There are situations where you are allowed to make copie of music: When it is for your (or members of your family's) own personal use.
However, there are restrictions - the below table describes some of the most common situations:

| - of an original CD/DVD which you have bought yourself (or acquired legally) to play it in your car, summer cottage - or on your MP3 player or discman. | - of a CD/DV and give it away, lend, exchange or sell it to someone else. |
