NCB distributes royalties twice a year - in June and December - for all types of collections. As from September 2008 royalties for online use of music is in addition to this also distributed in September and March. All our distributions are accompanied by electronic documents of royalty statement, newsletter, explanatory notes - and for Danish and direct NCB members also an account statement.
The royalties you receive in June and December have in most cases been collected for sales made during the previous half-year. Royalties collected on recordings sold outside the Nordic/Baltic area must await remittance from the collecting society abroad before we can pay out the money.
The royalties NCB distribute are to a large degree earmarked: They are collected for specific tracks on e.g. a specific CD and distributed to the rights owners of the reproduced music as a percentage of actual CD sales.
If you are a member through KODA, STEF, STIM, TEOSTO, TONO, AKKA/LAA, EAÜ, LATGA-A you will find your NCB statements and other NCB webservices through your national society's website. If you are a direct NCB member you will now have access to your NCB statements on this website.
We suggest that you always check your distribution statement. If you find any irregularities you should contact NCB's Member Services for assistance. Please bear in mind that irregularities may mean either an extra payment or a charge to your account. NCB is entitled to charge your account or demand a refund three years back in time (= 6 accounting periods).
