Covermounts: A covermount is a CD or DVD bagged with or affixed to a newspaper or magazine and supplied free or against a token amount - e.g. to cover handling, forwarding charges or the like.
Premiums: A premium product is a CD or DVD supplied free with another merchandise or service or against a token amount - e.g. to cover handling, forwarding charges or the like.
The tariff rates applied are the same as the applicable minimum rates covering the format in question. NCB's minimum rates for "budget" sales may also be applied if the product qualifies for these rates - please refer to the menu item [- tariff rates].
If your agreement with your customer includes a sale or return provision and you want to benefit from this when accounting royalties to NCB, you must clearly indicate this in the application form (link to the application below).
If your agreement does not include a 'sale or return' provision, but you want to apply NCB's volume based tariff rates instead, you must indicate this in the application form (link to application below).
In the application form you can see the conditions for applying 'sale or return' or volume based tariff rates.
The licensing terms that apply to covermounts and premiums are NCB's general Mechanical Licensing Terms - Audio Products. It is a condition that NCB has received your application as well as payment before your products can be released from the pressing plant.
