Preloaded music
Music recorded/preloaded on devices and media other than ordinary audio products (e.g. on memory sticks, flash memory cards, PC's, mobile phones, mp3 players and other electronic storage devices)
NOTE! These tariff rates do not apply to downloads or other electronic distribution of music via the Internet, telephones or other electronic distribution services. Please see separate rate cards for such uses.
These rates are subject to adjustments every 1 January.
What does an NCB licence cost?
The rates apply only to products intended for private use.

Applicable minimum rates per song
Minimum rates automatically apply if calculation of the NCB royalty results in an amount less than the minimum rates. NCB's minimum rates also apply to preloaded music distributed free of charge.
Applicable minimum rates are DKK 0.38 per song where the playing time is 5 minutes or less. For each additional minute (or part thereof) DKK 0.07 is added to the rate.
Preloaded music sold with other products
If preloaded music is sold or supplied at a fixed price together with other products or services - and the proper PPD price for the music part cannot be established - NCB royalties are calculated on the 'combined' selling price of the music and product/service.
However, for such products maximum rates apply as follows: DKK 0.76 per song where the playing time is 5 minutes or less. For each additional minute (or part thereof) DKK 0.15 is added to the rate.
NOTE! Part of NCB’s ordinary repertoire cannot be licensed for this purpose. Consequently, you should always contact NCB about availability before production is initiated.
