Userguide

This application must be used if you want to record/make copies of music on CD, DVD audio, vinyl, enhanced CD, MC etc. NOTE, this application must NOT be used if it is a digital release only.

In the application you must provide the following information:

your name, address etc.
general information about the production (covertitle, main artist, release date, format etc.)
information about the music (track title, music playing time, composer, author etc.)
information about numbers ordered, use and salesprice

All fields marked with a red star must be duly filled in.

When marking the blue question mark you will get access to additional information - just mouse over the question mark.

On the page where the entered information is accepted it is possible to add additional information to NCB. You'll also see the line "Click for NCB contact prior to invoicing". NOTE, mark only this line if you want to be contacted by NCB prior to our handling of your application.

When the application is completed we will show the entered information and the invoiced amount. This covers the mechanical royalties to the rights owners (= composer, author, arranger, music publisher). For most applications you can choose to pay the invoiced amount immediately. If you do so we will inform the pressing plant right away that the production can be handed over to you. You can only use NCB approved CD/DVD plants for the manufacture of the copies. You'll always receive NCB's invoice by mail and when it is paid you have permission to let the ordered copies manufacture according to NCB's licensing terms in force. If all music/lyrics on the production are copyright-free we will not invoice any mechanical royalties and you will be informed of that. Furthermore we will inform the pressing plant that your production can be handed over to you. For Release of your own music NCB will charge a minimum fee for every issue and re-issue regardless of the number of copies per release. NOTE, it is important that you yourself obtain any additional permission from the relevant rights owners, e.g. permission to make new music/lyrics to original songs or permission to make re-recordings of existing tracks.
